Asylum Lake Preserve provides a picturesque natural backdrop for senior portraits. The serene lake, lush meadows, and winding trails offer a variety of settings for your photoshoot. Whether you want to capture the vibrant colors of fall or the fresh blooms of spring, this location is a year-round gem.

2. Downtown Kalamazoo:

For seniors looking for an urban vibe, downtown Kalamazoo is a fantastic choice. The historic architecture, colorful murals, and bustling streets provide an eclectic mix of backgrounds. You can pose near the iconic Kalamazoo Mall or amidst the vibrant art scene.

3. Drake's Farmstead:

Drake's Farm is a favorite of mine. There is easy parking and access to the grounds of the farm and it provides a variety of textures from the various building's onsite, as well as a variety of beautiful nature setting's. In one location, you can have a wonderful senior portrait experience at a priceless convenience. The best time is in the fall when the leaves have changed in the large maple tree's that line the driveway.

3. Gorby's Sunflower Field:

Gorby's Sunflower Field in Allegan is just a short drive from Kalamazoo and the perfect place to get a pop of vibrant color in your senior pictures. This is a great place for early fall and late summer senior portraits for girls that is located close to Kalamazoo. The vibrant colors the sunflowers provide along with the mid September sunset's, can give a wonderful golden hour highlight to your senior pictures. The images can be absolutely show stopping!

4. Heritage Hall on WMU's Campus:

Heritage Hall on WMU's Campus is a great place for senior portraits. It boasts an amazing backdrop of the city scape of Kalamazoo as you can see in some of the photos. In the very same location you'll find large, old maple's that have beautiful color change in the fall and brick and cement that gives an urban vide to your senior portrait gallery. Heritage Hall is an historic gem for WMU's campus. Back when I was your age (not that long ago, c'mon be nice!), this building was unused and a little dilapidated. It has since been fully renovated and restored to its natural beauty.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College Campus

A highly underrated located for anyone seeking professional photography. KVCC's campus has it all as well. It is surrounded by trails that connect with Al Sabo land preserve, and also has brick and cement as well as glass that provides a unique backdrop for senior portraits.
